Bringing Low-Cost DAB to Merseyside
For three years Niocast has operated a successful multiplex as part of Ofcom's UK DAB trials. We now plan to apply for a licence to launch a low-cost DAB multiplex in Liverpool, serving the city region including parts of Knowsley, Sefton and Wirral. It will be a broadcast platform for an ‘ecosystem’ of up to 20 unique and distinctive radio stations.
Proposed Merseyside DAB Transmission Area
If you'd be interested in joining the low-cost DAB multiplex for Merseyside, please tell us below and we'll add you to our priority waiting list and keep you up to date with the licensing process.
Licensing is expected to begin in the second half of 2019. However, Ofcom has already started the process by inviting expressions of intent from prospective multiplex operators which explains why we're contacting you now. If you are contacted by other prospective DAB operators we would encourage you to engage with them too. That way, whoever is awarded the licence, you are assured of an opportunity to pursue things further for your station. But you do need to get your station on our waiting list...... just in case it's us!
IMPORTANT: To have your station included on our priority waiting list we need you to respond before 5pm on 7th Sept 2018
* Please note that the coverage map above is a computer prediction and, in reality, there will be some locations where reception is, or is not, possible, despite the map indicating the opposite.
